The legendary Barry Burton could be a playable character in Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil: Revelations 2, according to info spilled from the ESRB.
The ratings body specifically mentions players controlling a “father searching for his daughter on an island.”
Capcom has already confirmed that Barry’s daughter, Moira Burton, will be a playable character alongside series veteran Claire Redfield—could the reference of a ‘father’ be none other than Barry himself?
Barry last appeared in Resident Evil 5’s Mercenaries Reunion mini-game, although if we’re talking in terms of storyline, he hasn’t been seen since Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. Barry made his debut in the original Resident Evil alongside Chris Redfield and Jill Valentine as part of the S.T.A.R.S. Alpha Team, and will appear in next year’s Resident Evil HD Remaster.
Elsewhere, the ESRB also teased some of the weapons available in-game: “Players use pistols, machine guns, rocket launchers, shotguns, and knives to kill zombies…” states the ratings board,” it states.
Resident Evil: Revelations 2 is due out on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 in early 2015.
