Capcom has announced that Umbrella Corps, the squad-based shooter set in the Resident Evil universe, will be released on PlayStation 4 and PC in May 2016. The game will set you back £24.99.
Set from a third-person perspective, Umbrella Corps is a multiplayer-centric shooter where teams of up to six compete against each other across various locations plucked from Capcom’s venerable survival horror franchise, including Resident Evil 4’s Village and a Tricell HQ inspired by Resident Evil 5.
In addition to the fast-paced online competitive action, there’s also a single-player mode for gamers to dip into, which pits gamers against waves of zombies and other T-Virus infected adversaries from the Resident Evil universe. Known as ‘The Experiment,’ this horde-based mode features over 20 missions and "challenges players to hone their skills as they familiarize themselves with the world of Umbrella Corp."

Resident Evil celebrates its 20th anniversary this year, having first launched in Japan on March 22, 1996. Capcom hasn’t revealed any plans to mark the occasion, although you can bet they’ve got something planned for the milestone.
The publisher recently launched Resident Evil Zero HD Remaster for the PS4, PS3, PC, Xbox One, and Xbox 360, and has announced that it is also developing a full-blown remake of 1998’s critically acclaimed Resident Evil 2.
Beyond that, it is heavily rumored Resident Evil 6 will be making the jump to current-generation formats after the game appeared on a ratings board late last year.
