Capcom News PS5 Resident Evil Veronica Resident Evil Veronica Delay Rumour

Resident Evil Veronica Reportedly Could Be Delayed To Fall 2027

Capcom could end up delaying Resident Evil Veronica until Fall 2027, according to well-known insider Dusk Golem on X. Up until now, the game had only carried a vague ‘2027’ window, but it generally accepted Veronica would launch in Q1/Q2 next year.

There is a high chance it might’ve slipped into a Fall 2027 release. I trust the people I’ve heard this from, I haven’t heard it directly yet myself, so I guess take with some grain of salt if you trust in me trying to share these things to the best of my ability, but I’m coming to believe it’s true,” he commented. Golem went on to say that he had heard “they were making some late changes to the game, the scope & time to do such were a bit in the air,” so presumably these changes are taking longer than expected.

Resident Evil Veronica is a full remake of 2000’s Resident Evil CODE: Veronica that was originally released for the Dreamcast. The game takes place three months after the events of Resident Evil 2, and sees Claire Redfield travelling to Europe to find her brother, Chris, only to be captured by Umbrella and taken to Rockfort Island. However, soon after arriving the island suffers an attack and the T-Virus is released, mutating its residents into zombies and releasing all manner of deadly bio-weapons.

Capcom is celebrating 30 years of Resident Evil in 2026, with the original game (known as Biohazard in Japan) launching on March 22, 1996. If you’re a fan of the series, be sure to pop on over to our The Complete History of Resident Evil feature for an extensive look at the long-running franchise.
