Capcom has announced that Resident Evil Village will feature the return of The Mercenaries mini-game, last seen in Resident Evil 6.
There’s changes to be found in this version, though. There’s a shop for one thing, allowing players to purchase new weapons and upgrade your arsenal via local merchant, the Duke. Players will need to consider what weapons to take with them in each stage to deal with the threats that await.
The Mercenaries sees players battling against waves of foes, and originally debuted in Resident Evil 3: Nemesis in 1999. The mode was also featured in Resident Evil 4, Resident Evil 5 and even got its own spinoff, The Mercenaries 3D for 3DS.
It’s a separate mode from the main game, and is usually unlockable after completing the main campaign.

Resident Evil Village is scheduled for release on May 7, 2021 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One.
