Capcom has recorded the highest first-quarter results in the company’s history, thanks largely to the strong performances of Resident Evil Village and Monster Hunter Rise.
The three-month period ended June 30, 2201 saw net sales increase 104.1% year-on-year, while operating income rose by a massive 120.4% compared to the same period last year.
Resident Evil Village has now exceeded 4.5 million shipments globally following its launch in May 2021 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One. The company announced last month that it will be developing DLC for the survival horror title, although no further details have been confirmed.
Said Capcom:
This quarter, Capcom’s core Digital Contents business drove business results through its continued pursuit of digital sales growth, including with a major new release in its flagship series Resident Evil Village and sales of catalog titles such as Monster Hunter Rise.
