Resident Evil Village launched to consumer and critical praise back in 2021, and the added DLC along with a new VR mode for those with a PSVR2 have only made what was already an excellent game a better one to experience.
So it’s not at all surprising to learn that in just a little more than two years, Capcom’s latest mainline entry in the Resident Evil franchise has surpassed more than 8 million copies sold worldwide.

Village had the difficult task of following up Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, a title that many point to as a huge part in the franchises resurgence in popularity and quality.
Thankfully, Village showed that Capcom has no intention of slowing down with the franchise, and alongside the excellent remakes of the series most beloved titles, Resident Evil fans have been eating quite well for the last few years.
Of course with all the excitement around the franchise now, players are always looking for what’ll be next. Now that we’re two years out from Village, and that the Resident Evil 4 Remake is out, hopefully we’ll begin to learn more about the next mainline entry soon.
