Resistance is getting the Home treatment in the U.S. this Thursday with its own dedicated game space, featuring a turret-style first person shooter mini-game, reward items, leaderboards, and full-on game launching support.
Locust Star, PlayStation Home OnLine Community Specialist, posted information about the launch of the Resistance Home space on the PlayStation Blog. “Whether you are a heroic Sentinel triggerman or a heartless Chimeran killing machine – it’s high time you log into SCEA’s PlayStation Home and join your fellow soldiers as we launch (pun intended) into the next phase of the platform’s evolution,” states Locust Star.
The “Four Barrels of Fury” mini-game, which allows you to hone your Chimeran ship blasting skills, awards special virtual goods. A nearby global leaderboard will give the best players bragging rights.
In the space, you’ll be able to meet up with fellow Resistance fans, and launch co-op or competitive multiplayer matches straight from Home. The space is reportedly already available in Europe, but it doesn’t seem to be available at the present.
We recommend checking the space out on launch day to battle folks from Insomniac and SCEA (5 p.m. – 6 p.m. PT). After that, every Friday night from 6 p.m. to 12 a.m. PT will be “Resistance 2: SRPA Siege” nights. Come and join the carnage.
