Square Enix has released the first gameplay footage of Rise of the Tomb Raider: 20 Year Celebration’s all-new Endurance co-op mode.
This particular gameplay mode is new to the upcoming PlayStation 4 version of the critically acclaimed action-adventure sequel, and sees two players teaming up to survive the harsh winter climate while fending off attacking enemies.
Rise of the Tomb Raider also includes the brand new Blood Ties single-player mission, which also take advantage of Sony’s forthcoming PlayStation VR technology. In addition, the 20 Year Celebration edition includes new costumes, an extra difficulty setting, and all previously released DLC.
Originally released on the Xbox One and PC, Rise of the Tomb Raider has sold over one million copies to date, and sees Lara Croft embarking on an all-new adventure in pursuit of a mythical artefact.
Following on from the success of the 2013 video game reboot, the Tomb Raider series is also going back to the drawing board for its next silver screen outing, which is set to star Alicia Vikander as Lara Croft. The new film will debut in cinemas in March 2018.
This year marks the 20th anniversary of the Tomb Raider franchise, which debuted back in 1996 for the Sega Saturn, PC, and PlayStation and going on to sell over 45 million units of software worldwide to date.
