Gamers who purchase upcoming guitar-tutor offering Rocksmith from HMV following the game’s U.K. launch this week will see £5 donated to the Teenage Cancer Trust.
Publishing giant Ubisoft and retailer HMV will each pony up £2.50 with every sale of the music simulation title for the charity.
Rocksmith created quite a buzz within the games industry following its U.S. debut last year (yes, European gamers have had quite a wait on their hands), owing to the fact it allows you to plug in any real electric or bass guitar and jump straight into the action.
PSU.com was rather impressed with the game to say the least, with our U.S. wordsmith Adam Dolge awarding the game a mighty 8.5 in our review.
Said Rob Cooper, Ubisoft UK’s managing director: “We are exceedingly excited to be launching Rocksmith in the UK this week.”

Rocksmith is due out in the UK on Friday, September 28 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
