Sony has revealed that yesterday’s all-new Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer was captured directly from a PlayStation 4.
Rockstar Games launched the new trailer as part of its planned reveal event yesterday afternoon, and the results were impressive to say the least.
The footage was captured in-engine, and confirms the Wild West action-adventure title will boast some impressive visuals, with stunning vistas and highly-detailed character models marking a significant step up over its predecessor.
At the time, it wasn’t known what system the RDR2 trailer was captured on, but now that Sony has shed light on the situation, it’s certainly impressive to learn it was running on a standard PS4 considering the graphical fidelity on display.
The Red Dead Redemption 2 trailer confirms that Arthur Morgan will be one of the central protagonists in Red Dead Redemption 2, which will take the form of a prequel to the original game focusing on the Van der Linde outlaw gang.
Dutch was also mentioned in the footage, and it is believed we may have also caught a glimpse of Red Dead Redemption hero, John Marston, albeit during his younger days.
Red Dead Redemption 2 release date
Rockstar Games confirmed during the trailer’s climax that the highly anticipated Cowboy outing will arrive in spring 2018 on PS4 and Xbox One. The game was originally pencilled in for release in late 2017 before being delayed.
Reports following the delay have suggested that Rockstar postponed the game’s release as it was pushing for Sony to include Cross-Play in the title.
Don’t get your hopes up for a Red Dead Redemption 2 beta just yet; recent invites sent out were confirmed to be a hoax, and Rockstar’s keeping quiet on the matter for now.
