Rockstar has quietly hiked up the prices of its subscription service mainly built for GTA Online players called GTA+.
Spotted by VGC, without any public notice seemingly, Rockstar has raised the prices by 40% in the UK and by 33% in Europe and the US. GTA+ went from the original price of $5.99 / €5.99 / £4.99, up to $7.99 / €7.99 / £6.99.
Most of the perks that come with a GTA+ monthly subscription are great if you’re the kind of person who plays GTA Online all the time.
It also has perks for those maybe not so into GTA Online, since a subscription also grants you access to Red Dead Redemption along with its Undead Nightmare DLC, and the Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition.
Everything else however is geared towards GTA Online users, so you’ll have to weigh up if those two games and a few GTA mobile games are worth a payment every month, instead of purchasing either or both title separately.
With no public notice of the price hike, there’s also no reasoning from Rockstar on it. Not that Rockstar needs to give a reason, it’s more likely that it’s going to keep raising the price, simply because it can, and because it’s likely gearing up to make GTA+ seem tantalizing to everyone who’ll jump into GTA VI once that releases.
