Rumor: Army of Four in development

Kotaku reports that EA Montreal is busy chiselling away on a new entry in the Army of Two series.

According to the site’s tipseter, Army of Four as it’s known as will include four-player co-op and is being developed with the Frostbite 2 engine.

Apparently, the game’s development hasn’t been going smoothly, and it has been suggested EA Montreal may be looking to bring in members of DICE to help out with production.

Army of Two arrived on the scene back in 2008 and spawned the sequel Army of Two: The 40th Day in January 2010.

Rumors of a new game in the series date back to April this year, when EA posted a pair of job advertisements calling for a senior producer and lead environment artist for the Army of Two franchise.

We’ll keep you posted on any new developments as they break.
