Rumor: Assassin’s Creed III DLC plans outed

Assassin’s Creed III’s post-launch content plans have allegedly been outed via a letter obtained by Kotaku.

Addressed to GameStop, the letter, which hails from “the Assassin’s Creed team,” confirms that the stabby sequel will employ a “Season Pass” for its DLC plans, with episodic content said to be in the pipeline.

It reads: “What’s next? We are currently in the process of creating a complementary development team that will begin working on post-launch episodic content to continue the Game of the Year experience that Assassin’s Creed 3 will undoubtedly deliver.”

“We know you’re familiar with the ‘Season Pass’ concept and, beginning shortly, we’ll start to take pre-orders of our very own.”

Assassin’s Creed III is due out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 on October 30, 2012. The game sees players controlling newcomer Connor Kenway during the American Revolution, with Desmond also said to play a significant role in the proceedings.
