Rumor – LA Noire Part 2 Is In Development At Rockstar

Rockstar Games is reportedly beavering away on LA Noire 2, according to a new report. The news comes following a series of teases at the studio, which folk assumed to be Grand Theft Auto 6, but instead, it might be related to a sequel to the 1940s-era detective title.

LA Noire Part 2 In Development?

This isn’t your usual rumour from an industry source, however. It actually originates from YouTube, which auto generated an LA Noire Part 2 channel for the as-yet unannounced game. For those unaware, YouTube typically does this when there’s a lot of videos on the same subject, and in the case of LA Noire Part 2, has found a bunch of 80s music attributed to the sequel licensed by Rockstar parent company, Take-Two.

There’s also a reference to LA Noire’s radio station K.T.I., suggesting the songs are going to be played on that station during the game. Unsurprisingly, the YouTube channel has been shuttered, but Reddit picked it up before it was pulled.

Could Rockstar be working on LA Noire Part 2?

That’s about all there is to go on right now, and there’s no word from Rockstar Games on the subject, as you’d expect. The original game was developed by the now-defunct Team Bondi, but Rockstar handled the remaster for PS4 and Xbox One as well as the VR edition from 2017.

LA Noire was released on the PS3 and Xbox 360 back in 2011, and takes place during 1940s post-war Los Angeles, which has become a hive of crime and violence. Players control Cole Phelps, a detective who must solve a variety of cases covering homicide, arson, traffic, and vice while interrogating suspects in an attempt to secure a conviction.

The game was noted for its impressive visuals at the time of its release, which features MotionScan to record detailed facial animations to help players discern a suspect’s reactions, no matter how small.
