Developer Slant Six Games – best known for their work on squad shooter SOCOM: Confrontation – is apparently hard at work on a brand new instalment in Capcom’s Resident Evil franchise.
That’s according to a document obtained by the chaps at Kotaku, which describes the game as a team-based offering under the moniker of Resident Evil: Raccoon City. No platforms were mentioned, however.
While Capcom has already slapped a ‘no comment’ sticker on the rumor, a quick glance at Slant Six’s official website adds a little more fuel to the fire with the following announcement:
“Everyone here at Slant is very excited as we begin development on an amazing new project. The title is unannounced so far but we are very pleased to be working with our new publishing partner on a world class franchise!”
No further details are available at this time, though given the fact it is supposedly team-based and will take place in Raccoon City, it is conceivable we could be looking at a game similar to the Resident Evil: Outbreak series previously released on PlayStation 2.
Stay tuned.
