Blizzard Entertainment is beavering away on Overwatch 2, but hopes for a 2022 release may have been dashed, according to a new report.
According to an Overwatch streamer citing sources close to the development team, Overwatch 2 is taking longer than expected and as such may not make it out next year. Previously, Blizzard had confirmed that Overwatch 2 would not be released this year, which is the same case with Diablo 4.
Here’s what the streame had to say on the matter. Keep in mind that this is just speculation at this point, as Blizzard hasn’t announced anything about Overwatch 2 being delayed beyond next year.
I’ve heard from multiple people close to my original source with OW2 that the development is taking longer than expected. From what I can gather a release in 2022 does not seem likely anymore. I hope this is false and I’m proven wrong.
