1up has obtained fresh details surrounding Sony’s long rumored PSP-4000, with sources close to the website claiming that the revised handheld will be known as the PSP Go! when it hits stores later this year.
According to the site, PSP Go! is pencilled in for release in Japan this September, with a North American launch following in October/November. Apparently, the system will indeed come with a sliding screen and either 8 or 16GB worth of flash memory.
Furthermore, the platform – which ditches the UMD format of current models – will be supported by over 100 games, among which includes the elusive PSP version of Gran Turismo.
An official announcement is expected at E3 in June. Stay tuned.
