Battlefront 3 DICE EA News PS4 PS5 Star Wars Battlefront 3

Rumor – Star Wars Battlefront 3 Was Pitched To EA, But Licensing Costs Stalled The Project

According to well-known leaker Tom Henderson, DICE pitched Star Wars Battlefront 3 to EA but the project ultimately didn’t go anywhere due to licensing costs.

Henderson added that while Battlefront 3 is not currently in development – instead, a new Battlefield is supposedly already in the works – publisher EA has two Star Wars games in the pipeline, and will be story-driven projects. One of these is almost definitely a sequel to Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order.

As for Battlefront 3, one development source claimed, “It got turned down because it takes 20% more sales to make the same money.”

Henderson added that a number of key developers that worked on Star Wars Battlefront have departed DICE in the past 12 months, including Dennis Branvall and Christian Johannese, who served as Creative Director and Core Gameplay Designer on Battlefront II.

Right now, he claims that Battlefront 3 is very unlikely at this point, although we’ll have to wait and see what the future holds for the franchise.
