Rumor – Ubisoft Working On New Third-Person Shooter IP, Supposedly Named Pathfinder

Ubisoft is reportedly chiselling away on a new third-person shooter IP known internally as Pathfinder, according to the folks at Exputer.

The website claims to have seen images and footage of the game in action, which reportedly features a similar visual style to Ubisoft’s failed battle royale title, Hyper Scape.

Pathfinder appears to be a slightly different take on a Battle Royale, where a team of four players will drop into the map and find their path towards the center to fight the main AI boss.

Elsewhere, the report claims that Pathfinder will see players navigating through different areas of a map, and breaking through walls that change between matches. It’s also reportedly set to include a Hero class system that allows players to choose from different characters, each one sporting unique abilities.

Finally, Exputer mentions a central hub similar to the Tower in Bungie’s Destiny games, which acts as a social hotspot for players to mingle between matches.

Ubisoft hasn’t announced anything official about this new title yet, so stay tuned for further updates.
