Rumour — Battlefield Labs Testing PS5 Pro 120 FPS Support

Battlefield Labs, the initiative established by Electronic Arts to test drive the new Battlefield game, is reportedly testing 120 FPS support for the PS5 Pro.

That’s according to a playtester who provided MP1st with details on Battlefield Labs experience, which showcases an image of the game featuring a frame rate overlay that clearly depicts it running at 100 — 110 FPS. The lowest drop in performance clocked in at the high 80s, and this as only for a brief moment. The game was running at 100 FPS quite regularly in the map centre, even with plenty of destruction effects happening.

The report notes that the frame rate is able to stick to 120 FPS during infantry combat, and the playtester stated that instances of the frame rate dropping into the 80s were “rare.”

EA previously confirmed that the new Battlefield game is set to launch by March 2026, so it should be revealed in the near future, hopefully around the time of Summer Game Fest. Recently, a number the Battlefield Studios team stated that the new Battlefield’s campaign has been inspired by everything from Civil War to Dead Space.
