Ex-Turtle Rock Studios artist TJ Frame has revealed their website that the developer briefly had Evolve 2 in pre-production before cancelling the project to focus on other titles, one of which eventually became Back 4 Blood.
Concept art for the cancelled Evolve sequel was also revealed on the website, which showcase various locations and ships, with one location featured as a huge asteroid known as The Akhenaten. In addition, Evolve 2 was also reportedly set to return to the planet seen in the original game, Shear, with more sequentially oriented missions.

Turtle Rock Studios is now believed to be working on Back 4 Blood 2, although the studio hasn’t officially announced anything at the time of writing.
Evolve was released for PS4, PC, and Xbox One in February 2015, and takes the form of a first-person shooter featuring asymmetrical multiplayer elements, with five players participating — four as hunters and one as a creature. The hunters must work together to take down the creature, while the player controlling the monster must use its ability to evolve by consuming natural wildlife to take down the hunters or conquering the match’s objective.
While the game was initially successful, its player base started to dwindle significantly in the moths following its launch, and after a brief spell as a free-to-play title known as Evolve Stage 2, 2K Games shuttered the servers in September 2018.
