Rumour — Firesprite Is Making A Sequel To Until Dawn; New Ending In PS5 Remaster Point To Follow-Up

A sequel to Supermassive Games’ Until Dawn is in the works at Firesprite Studios, according to XboxEra’s Nick Baker. The comments come after the Until Dawn PS5 remaster found its way into some gamers’ hands ahead of tomorrow’s release, which apparently features hints to a follow-up.

Not that there will be spoilers for Until Dawn here, so don’t read beyond this sentence if you haven’t played the original version of the game and are planning on getting the remaster.

A Reddit thread by crawlplays has revealed that Until Dawn PS5 features a new ending, with some changes made to certain characters. One is Rami Malek’s Josh, who in the original PS4 version of Until Dawn, can be killed during the events of the game, or found transformed into a Wendigo in a post-credits scene.

However, for the Until Dawn PS5 remaster, Josh instead survives an encounter with the cannibalistic creatures and remains human, albeit cowering in fear. A voiceover by Dr. Hill then mentions about Josh finding redemption, indicating he may escape the mines.

A second post-credits scene focuses on Sam, player by Hayden Panettiere, who finds herself in Los Angeles years after the events of Until Dawn. Here, it is suggested she is suffering from PTSD, as her beside table is packed with pill bottles, and she owns a book called Creature Myths of the Great Plains.

Next, her alarm goes off at 6.00am, prompting her to turn it off only to notice blood trickling down her arm from a wound on her forearm. We then hear a mysterious voice calling her by name, which make Sam jump, although it’s believed that and the wound is an hallucination.

Fans are convinced that this means a sequel is in the works, and as mentioned above, Baker quickly chimed in stating that he heard of a sequel a while back with Firesprite in the driving seat.
