Speaking during an interview with Cleveland.com, Back to the Future co-creator Bob Gale has revealed that a new video game entry in the much-loved franchise is in development.
When asked about what’s next for the Back to the Future series, Gale stated that he can’t reveal any concrete details on the project, but noted that 2025 is the original film’s 40th anniversary.
We’ve got a shot at a new video game based on Back to the Future. I don’t want to tell you any more than that because I’m not allowed to, but this is something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. Knock on wood that it will happen. Of course, 2025 is the 40th anniversary of the original movie. We’re planning on some events, plus there’s a documentary that’s in post-production now about the making of the musical.

Back to the Future: The Game was released back in 2010 as a five-part episodic series, and was developed by Telltale Games, who later found great success with The Walking Dead franchise.
