Sony Interactive Entertainment will release a new version of the PS5 Digital Edition in Europe later this month with a reduced storage capacity, according to reliable leaker billbil-kun of Dealabs.
This revised console, version CFI-2100, will still carry the same €499 price point although right now there’s no indication that it will feature any other minor alterations, including performance and cooling changes. Nothing has been announced yet, but billbil-kun has a very solid track record when it comes to outing hardware and software-related news, so keep that in mind.
In terms of the storage, instead of packing 1TB of space it will instead include 825GB.

The revised PS5 Digital Edition will apparently arrive on September 13. This will mark the latest hardware revision for Sony’s flagship console, which originally released in November 2020 in major regions during the midst of the coronavirus pandemic. The system initially rolled out as the PS5 Standard Edition and the PS5 Digital-Only Edition, before Sony phased it out in favour of a slimmer model for both.
Last year, Sony released the more powerful PS5 Pro system, although unlike the original model it did not ship with a disc drive. Instead, users can opt to purchase a separate Ultra HD Blu-ray Disc Drive.
