Sony is reportedly looking to update PlayStation Portal to allow users to stream their purchased digital games via the cloud for players subscribed to PlayStation Plus Premium, according to a now-removed line of text spotted by a user on Reddit.
The PS Portal currently offers a number of PS5 games and classics that are able to be streamed via PS Plus Premium, but this suggests you can purchase titles from the PS Store and begin streaming from the get-go without the PS5 factoring into the equation.
The blurb read, “Buy this game, and then stream and play instantly on PS Portal or PS5 (only with PS Plus Premium).” As noted by the user, this description was spotted on the PS App but was quickly removed, and they also saw it listed under Dead Space but did not capture a screen grab.

PlayStation Portal was released in November 2023, and allows users to stream video games from the PS5 via Wi-Fi connection using the Remote Play feature. The vice features an 8-inch LCD HD screen and comes equipped with all the inputs available on the DualSense controller, but is not a standalone gaming handheld as it doesn’t run its own dedicated software.
