X user and longtime Resident Evil leaker Dusk Golem has claimed that Capcom’s upcoming Resident Evil Requiem will receive a PS4 and Nintendo Switch 2 release, although it they won’t be direct ports of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions.
Golem claimed in a recent post on X that he’s not sure when the PS4 version of Resident Evil Requiem will be released (it may not be available at launch), and expects specific features of the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S editions to be stripped back for a last-generation conversion of the game.
I won’t be at around the bush, Resident Evil Requiem should be releasing in PlayStation 4 & Nintendo Switch 2, seems this was kinda’ known behind the scenes & in the grapevine.

My personal interpretation is they’re consciously designing different platform versions. Requiem has new tech it’s using, as well as features for current-gen consoles, like the new ray-tracing lighting system they’re using. And making RE9 fit with current-gen expectations is part of their goal.
Resident Evil Requiem is pencilled in for release on February 27, 2026 for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S. The game takes place around 30 years after the destruction of Raccoon City as depicted in Resident Evil 2 and 3, and sees players controlling FBI agent Grace Ashcroft, as she investigates a series of brutal murders at a hotel – the same location where her mother, Alyssa, was killed some years prior.
