The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is set to receive a brand new expansion in May 2026, 11 years after the game was originally released on PS4, PC, and Xbox One.
Reports initially surfaced last month from Mateusz Chrzanowski, an analyst with Polish Noble Securities, who stated that he expected “the next paid add-on (DLC) for The Witcher 3” to launch in May 2026. Meanwhile, Borys Nieśpielak, a Polish games tipster, said last year that new content for The Witcher 3 was in the pipeline at developer Fool’s Theory, who is also working on a remake of the original game.
Nieśpielak has sine told Eurogamer that “several” independent sources have verified his information. In addition, they mentioned a comment from Piotr Nielubowicz, CFO of CD Projekt RED, who said in the company’s recent financial report, “there is a chance that new content hinted upon in recent calls and reports may see release in the coming year, having an impact on our results.”
Nothing official has been announced by CD Projekt RED yet, but we’ll keep you posted. In the meantime, the studio is currently working on The Witcher IV, which it has said is not going to be released until after 2026.
The Witcher 3 has sold over 60 million units as of May 2025, and was ported to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch following its initial release. Two expansion were released for the game in the form of Hearts of Stone and Blood and Wine, with a Game of the Year release arriving in 2026 that incorporated both DLCs.
