New details on the Resident Evil movie reboot directed by Zach Cregger have been revealed by leaker DanielRPK, who claims that the horror film will revolve around “a laid-back organ courier” named Bryan who gets caught up in a biohazard outbreak.
The report claims that The role of Bryan will be played by Austin Abrams of The Walking Dead fame, and sees the character going on a late-night deliver to Raccoon City General Hospital, where the main events begin to unfold. Along the way, he passes a snowy mountain road where runs down a woman with his car; she survives, but something appears “very wrong.” After trying to help the woman, he stumbles “into a full-blown outbreak involving horrifying tentacle-based mutations and bio-engineered monstrosities.”

The events appear to transpire in the middle of the Raccoon City outbreak, which indicates the film is set during the time of Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3: Nemesis. There’s no mention of any characters from the games, although if it does indeed take place during in the above timeframe, we may yet see some familiar faces.
This info isn’t official of course, so we’ll just have to wait and see how things turn out. It also differs considerably from previous murmurs about the new Resident Evil film adapting the plot of Resident Evil Zero, which takes place 24 hours before the events of the original game.
Resident Evil Welcome to Raccoon City was the previous attempt at bringing the series to the big screen, and was released in late 2021.
