Like A Dragon developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio has teased that fans will be ‘surprised’ by its next project during an appearance at the Essence of Fandom event Anime Expo.
Fans who attended the event claimed RGG Studio said of its new game: “We can’t tell you what kind of game it is, but I will tell you, you’ll be surprised.” Furthermore, it is believed that the team was talking about the next Like A Dragon title, rather than a new franchise.

RGG Studio released Like A Dragon Infinite Wealth in January 2024 for PS5, PS4, PC, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One, and in November last year launched the prequel Like A Dragon: The Man Who Erased His Name, which follows Kazuma Kiryu between the events of Yakuza 6 and Yakuza: Like A Dragon.
