Development of elusive sequel S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 is still on-going, Ukrainian-based studio GSC has confirmed.
Posting on Twitter, the company assured fans that the game isn’t dead, though wasn’t able to commit to a release date.
“To answer the multitude of questions we’ve been getting, #stalker2 is currently in development, yes. However there is no release date yet,” it wrote.
The future of the title looked bleak at one point, when it was reported prior to Christmas that GSC was soon to be shuttered, leaving S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 on the cutting room floor.
However, the developer issued a statement earlier this year confirming that it was still working on the project. Nonetheless, fans have still been persistent in their quest to find out exactly where it’s at, hence the response on Twitter.
The game is scheduled to ship for PlayStation 3, PC and Xbox 360 platforms, supposedly in 2012. Stay tuned to PSU.com for more info as we get it.
