S.T.A.L.K.E.R spiritual successor coming to PS4, but only if you help kickstart it

In development by the team behind the open-world survival horror series S.T.A.L.K.E.R, Areal is currently $20,000 into its Kickstarter target of $50,000, which it needs to bring its “definitive spiritual successor” to PS4, Xbox One, Wii U, Windows, Mac and Linux.

$50K isn’t a lot to ask for, though the game is already in an advanced pre-alpha state, and the developers promise that will be able to do much more with Areal if they reach their stretch goals of $200,000 and $500,000, including the addition of multiplayer modes and much more.

Areal is being developed by West Games, a team that consists of many GSC Game World staff who worked on the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. series.

On the Kickstarter website, West Games reveals that Areal will be a post-apocalyptic shooter where choices will affect the gameplay.

“Areal’s story is not linear – players can choose how their characters act and speak – everything from how you talk to who you kill changes the storyline of Areal. There is no morality system in Areal, so you are free to make choices that you think are best in any given situation, without being blinded and limited by a standard good/evil system. Ultimately, Areal is the culmination of everything that we want to see from a post apocalyptic game, and it’s something that we can realize with full creative freedom because of the unique platform that is Kickstarter. All we need is your support!
