Volition has revealed that there are no current plans to remake Saints Row 1 & 2, despite them being an obvious choice for a modern overhaul after the commercial disappointment of last year’s Saints Row reboot.
The company posted on Twitter celebrating the 17th anniversary of the original Saints Row, asking if players felt old given how long it’s been since the first game. One fan clearly wasn’t in the mood to celebrate, requesting that the company instead remake Saints Row 1 & 2, albeit on in the same engine as Saints Row: The Third Remastered. In response, Volition confirmed “we have no plans to remake them.”
Given the commercial failure of Saints Row (2022), one could argue that remaking the first two Saints Row games would be a good way to win back some fans of the series again. However, if they are plans to remake them, Volition would hardly confirm it in a random Twitter thread, and the series future is currently in the air as it is.
Still, we can live in hope, eh?
