Embracer Group has announce that Saints Row reboot developer Volition will be transition from a subsidiary of Deep Silver to The Gearbox Entertainment Company.
The press release also reveals that despite the polarising reception to Saints Row, it did meet management expectations in terms of overall performance.
Going forward, Volition will transition to become part of Gearbox which has all the tools, including an experienced management team in the United States, to create future success at Volition. This is the first internal group transfer where we transfer a major studio between operative groups, but it is not necessarily the last.
Embracer Group added that Saints Row “did meet the full expectations and left the fanbase partially polarised,” but in financial terms “performed in line with management expectations in the quarter.”
Saints Row was released in August 2022 for PS4, PS5, PC, Xbox Series X/S and Xbox One. The game’s Bright Future update is now available, which includes over 200 fixes.
