Saints Row IV hits one million sold in first week

Publisher Deep Silver has revealed that Saints Row IV shifted more than one million units in its opening week. Developed by Volition, the game currently claims top spot on the UK games chart and boasts PC sales triple that of previous entry, Saints Row: The Third.

Despite the closing of former publisher THQ last year, a less than desirable late-development period seems to have not affected the quality of the game.

“The development team at Volition is second-to-none as a driving creative force in the entertainment industry and we are very proud to have them as part of the Deep Silver family,” said Klemens Kundratitz, CEO of parent company Koch Media.

Saints Row IV builds upon the silliness of past entries with the inclusion of superpowers, aliens, and the luxuries that come with being the President of the United States.

Two DLC packs, the Presidential Pack and the Grassroots Pack, were also released on PSN this week. The former lets players run around as notable presidents such as Barack Obama or Abraham Lincoln, while the latter provides an assortment of items, including a gun that fires toilet plungers.

Both packs are priced at $2.99 each.
