SEGA has released the Samba de Amigo DLC for Sonic Racing CrossWorlds today, marking the final slice of free content for Year 1 of the mascot racer.
The content pack includes Amigo as a playable character alongside the Amigo (Classic) skin, which includes the character’s trademark sombrero. In addition, players also have access to the Locomotive de Amigo vehicle, plus special emotes and sounds including the VAMOS A CARNIVAL 2023 Version (Final Lap) and Let’s Find And Shake It (Jukebox Only).
Samba de Amigo was developed by Sonic Team and launched in arcades back in 1999 before arriving on the Dreamcast the following year. It’s a rhythm-based game that is based on Latin America culture and has players shaking maraca controllers to the beat of a tune in order to acquire as many points as possible.
Sonic Racing CrossWorlds was released on September 25, 2025 for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version following a few months later. SEGA has kept players engaged with a series of free content over the past 12 months, which have introduced content based on Yakuza, Angry Birds, Mega Man, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and NiGHTS into Dreams among others.
