Saudi Arabia’s PIF Will Own 93% Of EA Once The $55 Billion Buyout Is Complete

The Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund will own 93% of publishing giant Electronic Arts once the the $55 million buyout deal has been completed.

While it had previously been confirmed that a group of private investors would be acquiring EA, which included PIF, Silver Lake, and Affinity Partners, it has now emerged that the Saudi Arabia PIF will control 93% of the Battlefield 6 publisher, according to filings with Brazil’s antitrust regulator.

In regards to the other companies involved in the buyout, it is reported that Silver Lake and Affinity will hold a 5.5 and 1.1 percent stake in EA, respectively. According to a previous report on the Financial Times, Jared Kushner, son-in-law of President Donald Trump, was a key figure in facilitating a deal between EA and the PIF, despite not being mentioned in SEC filings that detail the timeline of the transaction.

Back in September during the announcement of the buyout, EA confirmed that the deal had been approved by its board of directors and is expected to close during the first quarter of the publisher’s fiscal year 2027. Following its completion, Andrew Wilson will remain in his role as CEO and EA will maintain its Redwood City headquarters.
