ONTOS, the science-fiction thriller from developer Frictional Games, has been delayed from its original 2026 slot into 2027, the company announced today alongside publisher Kepler Interactive.

ONTOS is our most ambitious game to date, both in terms of its size and scale, and in the depth and layers of our story and gameplay. In order to deliver this vision, we have decided to push the release of ONTOS to 2027. We look forward to sharing more updates about ONTOS, our characters, and our world soon.
ONTOS is now slated to launch for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in 2027. The game takes place from a first-person view and sees players exploring the hotel Samsara, which is a large, interconnected space where you’ll brush shoulders with various NPCs and complete narrative-based puzzles known as Experiments. ONTOS also features a nonlinear narrative that allows you to complete missions in any order, while morale choices will directly impact how the story plays out.
