Valkyria Chronicles, like many obscure Japanese games before it, was critically lauded but sold very poorly in regions outside Japan. The unique strategy RPG has acquired a cult following, and for good reason — the game is incredible. This is why we were elated to hear that the game might get a sequel.
Nonaka Ryutaro, Valkyria Chronicles producer, spoke to Famitsu about his interest in creating a second Valkyria Chronicles game. Pleased with the Japan’s reception of the Valkyria Chronicles and excited about upcoming anime, Ryutaro said that he hopes to create a proper sequel, as he doesn’t want to abandon the series after a single game.
With such a solid gameplay basis in place, there’s no imagining where a sequel could take us. Gamers, don’t let this go unnoticed: support great original games. If you don’t, who will?
