SEGA has announced that initial sales of its PlayStation 3 brawler Yakuza 3 in western territories have been “positive.”
While the company did not divulge specific sales figures, forum community representative RubyEclipse indicated that the game has got off to a solid start and extended the firm’s gratitude to fans:
“As was mentioned a couple times above, SEGA doesn’t generally release any specific numbers in terms of game sales,” the post reads. “So, while I’m not able to give you any numbers, I can at least still confirm that the initial sales were really positive, and that all of the fans who jumped in to support the franchise in the west did a great job.”
With any luck, Yakuza 3 will sell well enough to compel SEGA to release future iterations in the franchise in the west, notably Yakuza 4 and the upcoming PSP instalment.
So, want more Yakuza games? Buy Yakuza 3. Seriously, you should, as it’s rather good.
