Sony and Heavy Spectrum Entertainment Labs have staple-gunned a May 17 release date to the upcoming PlayStation 4 re-imagining of Shadow of the Beast.
Originally released on the Commodore Amiga in 1989, Shadow of the Beast arrives on Sony’s latest home console with a complete modern visual overhaul as you’d expect, although the storyline will adhere closely to its retro predecessor.
As such, players can once again look forward to stepping into the role of the Aarbron, who was corrupted by magic at a young age and transformed into a warrior-servant with a monstrous appearance.
Gameplay will combine platforming and action elements, and gamers now have combos to unleash into the mix as they battle it out with a variety of grisly foes.
Shadow of the Beast has been a while coming onto the scene, having originally been announced at Gamescom 2013.
