Resident Evil mastermind Shinji Mikami’s pinned a June 7 global release date on horror actioner Shadows of the Damned.
News comes following Electronic Arts’ GDC event this week, where Mikmai-san took to the stage to slurp whiskey and express both his and co-creator Goichi Suda’s admiration for the works of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez.
"[Shadows of the Damned] is our vision of hell, taking gamers on a journey through a demented underworld," he commented.
"We’re both big fans of Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, and Shadows of the Damned is similar to that Grindhouse style, with our own punk edge," Mikami added.
"It’s really unique and really quite different to any other action horror games."
Shadows of the Damned tells the tale of a chap named Garcia Hotspur, who finds himself on a one-way trip to hell in an effort to rescue his girlfriend. The game’s out on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 platforms.
