Shadows Of The Damned: Hella Remastered Is A Road Trip Through Hell, Coming To PS5 & PS4 In 2024

Grasshopper Manufacture has announced that Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered, a modern overhaul of the cult classic 2011 action-horror title, is launching in 2024 for PS5, PS4, PC, Nintendo Switch, Xbox Series X/S, and Xbox One.

The brainchild of Goichi ‘Suda51’ Suda and Shinji Mikami, Shadows of the Damned follows hot-blooded hero Garcia Hotspur and his boney companion, Johnson, as the duo venture into the Underworld to rescue Paula, Garcia’s kidnapped lover. She’s being held by the Underworld’s very own Lord, Fleming, and it’s up to you to battle through hordes of demonic foes using the powers of light.

The original version of Shadows of the Damned was released in 2011 for PS3 and Xbox 360, although it wasn’t a huge financial success.

Mikami-san would later reflect on the game stating that Suda-san was not able to create the game he wanted, and that his original idea had more of an ‘indie spirit’ that didn’t mesh well with the $10 million budget provided by publisher Electronic Arts.

Shadows of the Damned: Hella Remastered is out in 2024 with a concrete release date yet to be announced.
