Electronic Arts revealed during a gaming press event in Las Vegas that Shank, the side-scrolling slice-em-up developed by Klei, would be getting its own brand-shanking-new sequel.
Shank 2 will feature an online co-op mode that was built into the sequel better than it was in the original Shank (prequel co-op level), apparently.
"Instead of just giving another co-op campaign that you play once and never play again," Klei Entertainment developer Jamie Cheng said, "we took the mechanics and created a new way of playing: multiplayer co-op survival mode."
Shank 2 will be available in “early 2012,” and release on the PlayStation Network, Xbox LIVE, and PC.
