Unless you’ve donated $60 to the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter project then it’s possible you may not get your hands on a PS4 physical copy of the highly-anticipated action-adventure.
Those who have pledged $60 will be receiving the Special Backer Edition, but Ys Net has confirmed to VG247 that a retail version of Shenmue 3 has not been confirmed.
“Whether Shenmue 3 will be available for retail or not is currently unconfirmed,” he told the site.
With a couple of days left to go until the end of the Shenmue 3 Kickstarter, it’s looking likely that the project may well smash the record for the highest funded video game of all time. Over the past few days Shenmue 3 has smashed through the $5 million barrier, and Yu Suzuki launched a Shenmue 3 trailer to celebrate the success.
Announced during E3 2015, Shenmue 3 quickly broke through its initial $2 million goal in less than 24 hours and became the fastest game on the crowd-funding platform to reach $1 million.
A Shenmue 3 release date has yet to be set.
