Resident Evil mastermind Shinji Mikami has established a new development studio known as Kamuy, following his departure from Tango Gameworks last year.
That’s at least according to Mikami-san’s bio on the Shadows of the Damned Hella Remastered website, which reveals the veteran game developer has formed a brand new company although there’s no details to go on right now.

Mikami revealed not long after his departure from Tango Gameworks that he was looking to get back to work, and is currently working with Goichi Suda on the aforementioned Shadows of the Damned remaster. While at Tango, he worked on a number of titles including The Evil Within, The Evil Within 2, and Ghostwire Tokyo.
He’s best known for his work on the Resident Evil franchise however, having directed the original 1996 survival horror classic and going on work on its numerous sequels and directing the genre-defining Resident Evil 4 in 2005. Interestingly enough, Mikami played the 2023 Resident Evil 4 Remake and said he “enjoyed it very much.”
