Post-apocalyptic RPG Showa American Story is launching for PS4, PS5, and PC, NEKCOM Games and 2P Games have announced.
Showa American Story opens as the United States has been largely bought out by Japan, which results in a surge of immigration firmly establishing Japanese culture in the US. Both cultures quickly combine, and while this brings conflict, the citizens gradually adapt to life.
Things soon take a turn for the worse, however, as a catastrophic incident has serious consequences for the planet. Social order is eliminated, and after an undetermined amount of time, a teenage girl is mysterious revived in a post-apocalyptic world inhabited by zombies, creatures, and human survivors.
Featuring free-flowing and brutal combat, players must battle against hordes of undead and blood-thirsty creatures. You’ll have your pick of a range of weapons, including melee, ranged, and ‘strange weapons,’ as it’s described in the press blurb. As such, you’re encouraged to experiment with these weapons and determine your favourite play style.

Showa American Story also gives you a classic RV that serves as your new home, which can be customised and upgraded, while Choko’s status and abilities can also be enhanced by talking part in ‘Living Activities.’
Showa America Story has yet to attract a release date.
