Speaking on the PlayStation Blog, Silent Hill 2 Remake developer Bloober Team has announced that the game will feature the ‘best facial expressions’ in the franchise’s entire history.
This is down to the implementation of state-of-the-art motion capture technology, which allows for more nuanced facial animations when compared to the original PS2 version of Silent Hill 2. As previously reported, the horror title is also employing the Unreal Engine 5, so the visuals are hugely improved.
Elsewhere, Silent Hill 2 Remake will use an over-the-shoulder camera instead of the shifting perspective of the original, which will accommodate a totally revamped combat system.
One change often brings another. With a new perspective, we’re rebuilding the combat system and certain set-pieces, among other things. Now that you see basically what James can see, we could find new ways to keep the player on edge.
