Konami has announced that worldwide shipments and digital sales for Silent Hill 2 Remake have surpassed 2.5 million since its launch in October 2024 on PS5 and PC.
In addition, the publisher confirmed that worldwide sales of the Silent Hill franchise have now reached 10 million units since its inception in 1999.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is a complete ground-up retelling of 2001’s seminal psychological horror title released for PS2, and revamps the original’s environments and characters using the power of Unreal Engine 5. Environments have been expanded, new puzzles have been added, and dialogue re-recorded with new actors portraying the game’s iconic cast. Much like Resident Evil 4, the game employs an over-the-shoulder camera to replace the dynamic angles used in the original, with combat also benefitting from a modern revamp.

As with the original version, Silent Hill 2 Remake follows James Sunderland as he travels to the foggy town after receiving a letter from his wife, Mary, who died of a mysterious illness three years earlier. Upon arriving, he finds Silent Hill deathly quiet and inhabited by grotesque creatures, with only a handful of regular folk left who have apparently also been called to the town.
