Silent Hill 2 Remake Sales Reach 2 Million Worldwide

Silent Hill 2 Remake has sold two million combined digital and physical sales world-wide, Konami Digital Entertainment has announced.

Developed by Bloober Team, the remake of Team Silent’s psychological horror masterpiece was released for the PS5 and PC in October 2024, and like the original, follows James Sunderland as he travels to the foggy town after receiving a letter from his deceased wife, Mary. Upon arriving, he finds Silent Hill all but deserted, save for the roaming monstrosities that stalk his progress as he attempts to get to the bottom of what really happened to Mary.

Silent Hill 2 Remake greatly expands on the 2001 PS2 version with the addition of new areas and cutscenes, as well as revamping iconic locations such as Brookhaven Hospital and Lakeview Hotel by introducing all-new puzzles. Whereas in the original game there might have been one major riddle to solve in a particular area, Silent Hill 2 Remake introduces multiple, small puzzles that interlink with the core conundrum, so even veterans will experience something fresh.

Bloober Team’s remake is one of a series of titles that represent Konami’s decision to resurrect the Silent Hill franchise, with Silent Hill f and Silent Hill Townfall also currently in production.
