Bloober Team‘s Mateusz Lenart has revealed that Silent Hill 2 Remake will take players around 16-18 hours to complete on their first playthrough, which is noticeable longer than the original version of the game.
The Silent Hill 2 Remake director dropped the news during an exchange on X, where he also added that if you want spend your time exploring everything the game has to offer and uncover all its secrets, you’re looking at over 20 hours.
If you like to spent your time searching for everything that we put into the game and things we’ve hidden for you, it will take you more than 20h for sure! I’m not couting the new game plus and all endings of course. I’m curious how fast will you get all of them.

The original version of Silent Hill 2 was about eight hours give or take for an average playthrough, although it did have multiple endings depending on various choices you made throughout the game. One of the endings required you to have already played through the story, as you need to collect a few special items that only appear during a second playthrough (Silent Hill 2 purists will know what I’m talking about here).
For the remake, it looks like Bloober Team is giving players the chance to explore more of the town, with various buildings open for searching, and possibly even new narrative elements.
Silent Hill 2 Remake is due out on PS5 and PC on October 8, 2024.
